CALIBRE 2000

Calibre 2000 is a reporting system for environmental and other performance indicators. Developed by BRE (Building Research Establishment) it provides 5 online tools for measuring performance;

  • TEAMS – identifies how time is used on construction sites,
  • BREPlan – is concerned with the predictability of the delivery process,
  • SEAS - estimates the environmental impact and working environment of construction sites using parameters such as energy consumption,
  • SmartWaste – this identifies the volume, type and causes of material wastage on site and enables project teams to develop action plans for minimisation and elimination of this type of waste,
  • ‘as Built’ CD Rom – provides a visual library of the construction process.

Registered users, having paid the appropriate licence fee, can upload data into CALIBRE 2000 and receive reports on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. These include information about standards and benchmarks which can be integrated into management plans. Registration also provides access to the Added Value club.

Role of Secondary and Recycled Aggregates
This tool is intended to measure the performance of a whole project based on a number of criteria. Aggregates may form a small part of the overall performance assessment.
