Environmental Permitting

Regulatory regime introduced in England and Wales in 2008 streamlining and unifying the old Pollution Prevention and Control and the Waste Management Licensing systems. Waste operations, such as treatment, storage, recovery, recycling, disposal, are now regulated under this regime with the Environment Agency as the main regulator. Old PPC permits, waste licences and permits have been transferred automatically to the new regime in April 2008.
